Carpet Seaming Iron

A carpet seaming iron is a dedicated heating tool for carpet installation. It works together with carpet seaming tape to join two pieces of carpet by melting the adhesive on the tape and bonding the carpet backing together.

It is not the same as a regular clothes iron. A carpet seam iron usually has a wider, heavier base, adjustable temperature control, and a design that lets installers move it smoothly along the seam. Regular irons are made for fabrics and are not suitable for activating carpet seaming tape.
